"The Return to Dallas"
DALLAS, TX. - December 09, 1997 - Ritual Entertainment, makers of the highly acclaimed "QuakeŽ Mission Pack #1 - Scourge of Armagon" and the highly anticipated "Sin", announced today that Scott Alden, a programmer formerly of 3Dfx Interactive, has returned to Dallas to join the tribe.

Scott graduated from the University of Florida in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering and immediately moved to Dallas to work at Nortel as a software engineer in tools development. After working at Nortel for three years he talked with his former classmates Gary McTaggart and Charlie Brown at 3Dfx, about a Voodoo Porting Group position. Scott was with 3Dfx for just over 10 months and worked with many game developers integrating 3Dfx hardware and software into their products. During that period he worked on a myriad of diverse projects, including:
  • Porting Glide to the Macintosh
  • Porting GLQuake to the Macintosh (Worked closely with Lion Entertainment on the port)
  • Adding 3Dfx support to Myth (Worked with Bungie on the port)
  • Adding 3Dfx support to the Build engine for Shadow Warrior (Worked closely with 3D Realms on the port)
  • "I've always had a love of computer graphics and games, and that is what lead me back to Dallas and Ritual Entertainment!", said Scott.

"Scott and I have known each other for a long time and I know that he will be a solid addition to the programming team here at Ritual.", said Charlie Brown

"We are thrilled to have Scott at Ritual. His 3D expertise will be invaluable for Sin and future products.", said Mark Dochtermann, President of Ritual Entertainment.
