Some folks have asked if they could see a bit more of some of the other things in my upcoming Heavy Metal FAKK2 add-on "Between Heaven & Hell". I threw together a small video of some of the other environments I've had in the works, nothing too fancy, just more unseen footage for you guys to check out. I'm working on a few other things right now, so I'll have more posted on all of this later.

Here's some bad news:
I just emailed Kiltron asking him about the Between Heaven & Hell mod and if there will be more maps available.
This is what he answered me (hope he doesn't mind me posting it here):
[email edited out at the request of Kiltron]
It ruined my day.
R.I.P. Heavy Metal FAKK2.
A big thanks to Kiltron anyway, I really had a good time playing these 2 levels /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Edit: removed email contents

Yeah I do mind actually. It's just not cool to go posting peoples emails in forums when you get a response. If it's information I wanted to make publicly available, I would have done so myself. Try being a little more considerate next time.
Actually, you should take down that information.

OK, I would have deleted the posting by myself, but badman was faster.
Of course I should have asked Kiltron for permission before posting his email.
I feel terribly ashamed /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif I dunno where my manners have gone...
But Kiltron, why don't you make the information public by yourself?
People like me are hopefully waiting for the mod and come here day by day to check out some news about it.
I thought you just forgot about us here.
P.S.: I will not respond to emails asking me about Kiltrons mod.
I wouldn't worry about any info 'going public' as it's pretty common knowledge now that anything to do with what had been worked on won't be released, I'm assuming this 'embargo' includes the FK2 work that was being done.

Well, I don't know what happened but thanks for all the work you put into this; at least we got to see and try some of it. When I first heard about this all getting released (and for free), I thought it was too good to be true... Damn, better have some Jade absinthe after this news. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

There were 12 new levels in the making for the add-on. Two of which were released, and a third that was ready for release. After my separation with Ritual, I was approached by a developer who was interested in the work I was doing, so the remaining 9 level designs were contracted out to this undisclosed developer who are currently working on a next gen 3rd person action/adventure game. Since I owned/created the designs and were done in my spare time, I put them to use that would be more beneficial to me for the time and effort I put into them. It's better to get something for my hard work instead of promoting a game for a company I no longer work for, which was the main intent for the add-on to begin with. This decision/deal was made in July of 2004 and pertains to no recent events. As far as any particular gameisms I mentioned in any press releases about the project, those ideas are still being considered for my new projects.

Cool, glad to get that cleared up. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
And hell yeah.... if you can get money for the work you put into something then, chachingggg, yes please..!
PS. I might as well say it here as I've said it just about everywhere else.. good luck with your current projects.

Ah yes, tis a shame. I hoped to see FAKK 2 have one last hooray before it fades away for forever. I'm proud to say, although not as extensive as Kiltron’s, that all my work is for the purpose of the enjoyment of the people and not for profit. But as the saying goes, what pays the bills pays the bills, so I guess that’s just how it is. If the mod never will be released non profit I guess I can at least say thanks for getting our hopes up! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Sorry to get your hopes up, but you're right. Paying the bills and providing financial security for my family and myself is first and foremost. Hopefully you enjoyed the levels I did release for the game.
