I am curious how many of the SIN clans from 1999 and 2000 are still around the gaming scene.

Guys you wanna talk about old school I still have the PCGamer july 98 where they show a screenshot of HL1 and SiN next to each other. I remember thinking this Valve game doesn't seem all that impressive (I'm glad I was right). Then I looked at SiN and thought DAMN this game looks sick. Come october/november 98 the most buggest game to ever get released was released. I had dial up when they released patch 1.01 that 18meg mothaf***a, but after that patch SiN was and still is one of my favourite games to date. In fact 90% of the games you see today SiN hadthose idea's ie. vehicles, locational damage, interactivity. This game was amazing, I think it's because I loved DN3D so much and I thought "hmm, LevelLord is at this company now, maybe he will use the ingenius idea's that DN3D had and throw them in to this new game". I just hope this will live up to the quality the original does. I'm sure they will too.

I do have to say that you are the originators of the paradox level and "rats" type of level. I totally give you alot of credit.

Keep up the good work Ritual, if you dont believe of how old of a gamer to this game I am check my profile of when I joined this forum. Though I never posted, I was here. I think this one is older then my 3DR account. But that's because my 3DR account I made a new one.

The system I had back then, was a P-II 266 w/ 128m pc100 ram, dual 12 meg voodoo2's, with a Diamond Stealth 3 16m AGP card that had the Intel 740 Graphics chipset. SiN ran like a dream. And if I had upgraded by then I had the TNT2 with a P-II 450 with same everything else. Oh and a Diamond Monster Sound with the Aureal 3D soundchip. I'm still kick it! It's Awesome to know that Ritual still cares. I know some of you are upset about Steam releasing it, but if you actually read interviews and understand where they are coming from. This is just more than SiN2. First Ritual is taking a Risk, and Risk that may or maynot pay off. Plus we get to have a Say in the game! Hey that's LOVE baby! I was in BaS, and I remember we played some Kingpin, but I don't remember playing any clan matches outside of Kingpin and Sin. After that I played Quake 3 for a while and then totally fell out of the gaming community, which wasn't a big deal, because I just entered my first serious high school relationship. I haven't really played games seriously since (maybe just a little console fun with friends every once in a while.)

These days I'm at college (Harvey Mudd) studying computer science. If I can get a computer that will run it, I will certainly buy and play SiN: Episodes, though I bet I'll suck it up at MP.

Hello Ritualistic Community,
I might be brand new here since I just registered, but I've watched this community for years ever since I started playing Sin; Ritualistic is really the best source for any info on this awesome game! When I played Sin the first time, it was the beginning of 1999, I was... wow, 14! And it was the first shooter I ever played, and I loved every bit of it. Even though Sin isn't so popular in Germany, I advertised the game to anybody I met and I know quite a few people who really liked it even years after its release.

Man, I played the single player campaign of Sin THIRTY times from start to finish in these past six years! I just couldn't stop and couldn't leave this world behind me! Nowadays I'm pretty bored when I try to replay it because thirty times can even make the best game a little repetitive /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif, but I remember Sin, WOS and the anime (anime fan here!) with good feelings.

I'm extremely excited about Sin Episodes; FINALLY we're getting what we waited for so long! And I have great faith in Ritual that they will get it right. Steam isn't a problem for me technically and HL2 is an awesome game, I only hope that we'll get alternative payment options - no credit card here /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I'm not that much of a multiplayer guy, so I rarely played Sin online, but I had quite a bit of fun with the Redemption bot some years ago before I had the chance to go online with the game. Still, I hope that Sin Episodes will offer some kick-ass single player gameplay and story!

I'll stick around here from time to time and post my thoughts. I've never been in a game community forum before, but Sin is becoming a series and that leaves enough room for discussion.

As far as old school clans still being around, /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif & {DiE} Merged shortly after UT(99) was released and a few years later became [xeno]’s UT division. We were active until about a year and half ago.

A lot of us are still around, just not active.

I may have to make my gaming come back for this one.

OWNAGE comes in many forms....

It can come in the form of hosting a UT game and losing to someone on a poor dial-up connection with a 600 ping.

It can come in the form of deciding to target another player at a LAN game using "target bots for kills" house type rules in a Q3 Spry style map and still losing because your "target" was able to hit 100 kills first (most of those kills coming from defending your attacks and not from bots).

and, last but not least,

It can come in the form of getting up and actually changing the UT server settings at a LAN game when you were frustrated by being killed three times in a row by a female player using nothing but dual pistols (while you were rocket ho'ing).

But then again, I'm sure being for "rent" is better...

i have been trying to figure out what my orignal name was when i was playing SiN but cant remember. I remember something bout my clan which i think was [UPS] but i have no idea what that stand for now /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif. But i do rember all of you. badman, milhouse, wingz, gib, man crazy that you guys are still on these forums. What is crazier is that i rember one of my many names under this forum.

Well, I'm still around, even come here to keep up with news, don't post much though.
As for clans, I was in DiE, didn't make it until the Xeno merger, job and connection kept me from participating much and my comp at the time wasn't the best in the world, lol.
And wasn't DiE formed from members of SoS originally? Can't really remember atm, but I seem to remember it being formed by SiKo and Sphinctercat, later Nocturne, if I remember right.
It would be nice to see some kind of old schoolers reunion when the game comes out, maybe against all the new players that will be coming in?

Man, it has been years since I have been here. Everyone is so grown up now. This is Troll TNT. You know the clan that was da bomb back in retro Sin days. we later merged with xeno to become their UT division

Darkstar Govertigo Nocturne GiMiX(commandodon) and I stayed together for the longest time as a clan and had our successes with UT... GiMiX is currently the #1 dueler in North America for ut2k4

GSA shows some of them, but ase shows all, there are 2 sensemans(EU), 2 Canadian and 2 USA servers up at the moment, oh and one from Japan, so there are plenty of them /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif And no, you don't need add them manually, as far as i know on GSA, but well thats why i use All Seeing Eye /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I do have GSA installed, but i won't subscribe it, cause it's a piece of shit.

After SiN I played Quake3 a rather preposterous amount with clans such as sA (syc0tic Aggression), HT (I think, although I can't remember what it stood for), |a| (arson), nB (negativeBurn - Fatal1ty originally played for them, but was kicked out /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif, and some others including a few with Power3D of |4| fame. I got fairly good early on, but I eventually stopped playing and the level of competition just got better and better. It's rather absurd how many great players there are now compared with before.

I haven't really played any games since, although I do play an occasional Quake3 match when I'm at home. I'm currently in Germany for this academic year. I study computer science at the University of Toronto. It's good to see some familiar names from long ago. I wouldn't mind knowing where some of the MiB and TnT people are. I think that I have Wicket's name on my AIM list, although I don't use instant messaging much anymore.

I suspect it's rather unlikely that I will play SiN: Episodes. Not only because I haven't the time, but also none of my machines are terribly fast, have 3d accelerators, or run Windows.

As far as nicknames go they were so many, and there's such a long time since.. the ones i remember at the moment are Noonerman and GuS.. I remember being clanned with people like AnthraX in SuB :P and with UPS.. Btw smokey it meant Unified Pro Sinners if I recall correctly.. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Took a while to respond, lost forum password and never got around to resetting again, but did now (whew).
But anyways, what did happen to DiE after they joined Xeno?
I'd log into the chat room a bit while at work, but everyone always seemed to be practicing or in a match, so I eventually stopped connecting. A lot of people seemed to have moved on the last few times I had connected though.
I think it'd be interesting to get everyone from the old guild together again in SiN Episodes, although I'm so rusty it'd probably take a can of WD40 to even get me decent in SiN again, lol.
