With Steam we have a kind of nostalgical feeling: we'll get the same long loading times than we had with the first SiN release (without patching) back in the days from November 1998 /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I wish this would be the only Steam problem though...

To extrapolate Varsity's post:

Steam is simply a content delivery system. Currently only Valve games use Steam and hence it's most well-known for being needed for HL2 and CS:S, as well as playing older HL games on the Net. It's freely available even if you haven't bought any Valve games, and so when Sin Eps becomes available you'll see it listed in the Steam "Play Games" menu without having to touch HL2 at all.

Hello... (first post).

I think steam is a really good idea. It allows the developers to save money on box advertising etc. which in turn helps the future of games. Also steam allows a game like Sin Episodes to provide a unique experience and story by allowing the developers to deliver the game in episodes.

Steam... its actually their downfall you know that? It actually allows people to get their programs far easier than if they just let their games go stand-alone. But no, they had to try and add security after ONE person hacked and stole the source code for Half Life 2, which by the way, we the fans nabbed. What do we get for it? Misery.

Anyway, steam is a free download, its the games you have to pay for... unless of course you go about the alternate means which is, as always, pirating. Its a good thing that the Steam servers a fast though, otherwise they'd be getting a forest worth of paper from me every month.
