I was just wondering, will you guys be releasing a level editor and and SDK fir SiN Episodes? I know that multiplayer is a feature that will come later and realize most people make levels for multiplayer gameplay. Just wondering if we can expect some tools to come out earlier rather than later so we can start getting some maps together for when the multiplayer is ready.

If you know "Hammer," creating SiN: Episodes levels will be a relative breeze.
I do not know if we'll have a way to bring levels made for HL2 over to SiN: Episodes or not. You will most likely be able to bring over geometry without any issues and basic entities such as lights, but I can't vouch for much of anything else.
However, we do highly encourage aspiring SiN: Episodes level designers to wet their teeth using Half-Life 2 in order to get used to the Source engine.
As for the SDK, we are aware that the mod community is anxious to get their hands on our stuff, and we are anxious to get our stuff to the mod community. However, we aren't ready to discuss specifics, timelines, or anything like that at this point in time.

My problem is I'm a Unreal Man, Once you get use to that mapping style its hard to create levels which I consider reversed. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif I did convert a map over for testing purposes, which was very smooth to get over to Hammer. Getting it run another thing. If you guys keep a entries to be same as SiN, most of it will drop in. In my mind making it Easy to do SiN Source of the orginal game! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif For you map guys out ther grab the convert program here.... (http://www.ninken.com/WinBSPCv14.zip) You want to save the map as .map, then load it up in hammer.

Thanks for the info!
I was playing around with Hammer a while back, but since I don't have HL2, I'm sure it's changed a bit. I should probably just get it off Steam sometime. I'm sure it's at least a decent game, though most people seem to love it or hate it.

The Hammer on steam is really easy, I taught myself how to use most of it in a day.

Hammer is pretty much worldcraft, which is what I used to make McFetus all those years ago. I remember at the time Worldcraft 1.6 wouldn't work with Sin but I got it working just to prove it could, funny thing is I don't remember how the hell I did it. Errr anyway that's a bit off topic but the point is it's pretty easy to use /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Awwww thanks, funny thing is I've made tons of maps but that's the only one I ever actually released and I tend to think it's the crappiest. What I think made it cool though was it just fit SinCTF's gameplay really well, but in retrospect I shouldn't have put that speed boost on top of the waterfall cuz it's completely unbalancing /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Anyway more on that in another topic...

I man, i hope you guys create some decent tools for Source. The HL2 tools are so abysmally poor. Most companies improve their tools over generations, evolving them and their workflow (Epic (esspecially Epic), iD, Croteam). Except Valve. They seem to think tools that are more than 6 years old in design are fine.

I'm very glad to see that there will be an SDK for the aspiring, I can say that I will be creating content for Sin2, it's good to see Sin back in action again.
