Its a fact, i dont have so much time to play computer games anymore, and the current games that are beeing relased are not really interresting for me, especially the leak of originallity pisses me off. I hope Sin eps will be as good and fun to play like Sin. Ok ritual, the Artworks and screenshots are already promising, but i hope steam will not be the only release platform. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I think it's pretty much a definite that Steam will not be the sole delivery platform for this game (what with EA now doing publishing for the mainstream titles from Valve), but we'll have to see.

Now does that mean they will have the game for retail the very instant as they have it on Steam... probably not. People will most likely have to wait longer; so the devs can see if this title is going in a direction that fans are proud of, but I think the plan has always been for something like this to go beyond a dreaded pre-load for the 56Kers among us.

On the other hand, it wouldn't surprise me to see something along the lines of the Half-Life 2 retail releases, where they're Steam-in-a-box....

The obvious problem with that idea, however, is that most games take no less than 20 hours to complete. While people who have Steam will mostly be either modteams or clans, the content is only going to be about 6 hours per-episode, and unless you are a fast learner when it comes to making new things in SOURCE, players will be waiting 3 months before the next chapter is released.

While I have no doubt they will release to retail, I just don't think 6 hours an episode released in a box is going to be enough to maintain the interest; hence the groupings of two or three episodes at once. Now I could be completely wrong about that, but 6 hours to me seems low.

I'm waiting for a few games along with this namely: F.E.A.R. and TES:IV Oblivion.
