When I extract the folders into the SE1 folder, I get Elexis in the bikini instead of the suit. What am I doing wrong?

What did you use to edit the .vtf files? I downloaded some Photoshop plug-ins, but they seem to darken the skins when I save them, which is really [censored] annoying.

nothing... it's supposed to be like that, but you must copy the materials folder into the SE1 folder too, else the bikini will still be visible and the nudeskin isn't used

hummm..thats odd, i only get the bikini whenever I extract both the models and materials folders to SE1. (Installing it just like every other skin/model for any HL engine game)
whats wrong?

By "folders" I meant the models and the materials folders. Looks like others are having the same trouble, so at least it's not just me.
Which is why I made my nude skin (http://www.ritualistic.com/forums/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Number=167576&page=0&view=co llapsed&sb=5&o=7&vc=1) into a mod instead

SiN Episodes: Emergence does not allow the use of custom materials/skins. Apparantly you can use custom models, sounds, and other things though, just not custom skins. This is why you see the Elexis bikini model but not the edited skin. Ritual has done something to the game to prevent us from having custom vtf files working.
The only workaround to be able to use custom skins would be to create a mod and put the skins there, but then you'd lose your config settings, stats, save games, etc.
Can't you just put your config, stats, save games etc. in there aswell? I can't see why that wouldn't work. My current problem with putting the textures in a separate mod is that I lose some parts of the menus and map names. I may have lost some other things too, but I haven't noticed anything else yet.

Ize I installed your patch, not difficult to do at all, and it works just fine /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Anyway, I noticed in your screenshots above that you also have the Elexis model in place of Jessica. I decided to give this a go myself and replaced the following files in the SE1\models\characters\Jessica folder with the equivalent ones from the Elexis folder...

Jessica.dx90.vtx
Jessica.mdl
Jessica.phy
Jessica.sw.vtx
Jessica.vvd
I start a new game and after the initial sequence with Roddick and the real Elexis I find Jessica has been replaced with your nude Elexis as expected. Everything goes well until the bit where she is just about to say "I know this is your car Blade but I'm driving". It is at the point that the game crashes and bombs out to the desktop.
What other files do I need to copy over and rename to get the Jessica-replacement working fully throughout the game?
When I did that, I came to the conclusion that the Elexis model lacks the animations that are used for driving - or animations that are only used by Jessica. I don't know whether this is correct or not, but it's my best guess.

I'm also guessing here but I would have thought that animations would be held in...

...as such I've left these alone and have not overwritten them with the Elexis equivalents /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Anyone else here that knows more about this kind of stuff than us two care to chime in?
Maybe those animations can only be used on Jessica's model, as they could be set to work with the dimensions of only her model?

You can't just make a "Jessica Nude skin", because the clothes are part of her model. You can't just remove it or skin it. You'd have to make a completely new model which will take ages and probably no one is bothered to do it.

It's possible to change the skin of ennemies (soldats) with the "Elexis naked" skin ?
I would like to kill lots of "Elexis naked" LOL and it's possible destroy her head and body as with normal ennemies ?
