When I launch SE:E from Steam nothing happens

I bought Sin Last night from steam downloaded it and when I tried to launch it; nothing happened.
I tried a second time and it said an instance was already running.
I pressed Alt-Ctrl-Delete and there was an instance of Sin Episodes running in processes. So I verified game cache, uninstalled, reinstalled, downloaded new drivers, deleted Client.blob or whatever, deleted steam.dll and I still get that same problem. Please Help...

Have you got a Firewall installed?

Set the permissisons to allow SiNEpisodes.exe to allow access to the internet.

When you reinstalled SE1 did you delete the local game content through the Steam interface only, or were the Sin episodes game folders also deleted?
I had the exact same problem, and when I reinstalled just by
deleting the local game content through Steam this didn't solve
the problem. I finally had to delete everything and install the
game clean (after backing up my config files and saved games). This was the only thing that worked for me.

Yes do what Curly says and also try adding a "-autoconfig" in the Advanced Options.

Right click on Sin Episodes from the steam browser, go down and click "properties" then in one of the tabs it should have a button labeled "Advanced launch options" or something to that effect, I don't have steam running so I cant give surefire exacts.

Re: When I launch SE:E from Steam nothing happens

Might it have something to do with the fact that my file is located in "D:\Steam\steamapps\name\sin episodes emergence"
and most of the time people's steam is at "C:\Valve\Steam\" Maybe some file is saying to go through the C Drive?

It shouldn't matter.

What version of Directx do you have?
I'm sure you probably have the latest
version, but the Steam website support
section says when you try to start a
source game and end up at the desktop
you should download the latest version
of directx 9.0c
In case you need it, here's the link from
the Steam support page.
