Getting Steam Sin to run in software rendering mode

I used to play Sin using software rendering only. I bought Sin Episodes, and decided to install Steam Sin (since it has been a couple of years since I've had Sin installed, I can't locate the disk). Steam Sin seems keeps trying to start using hardware acceleration (which I don't have), so it won't even let me start the game.

Plain old Sin with software rendering ran. Steam sin using hardware rendering doesn't.

Are there any command lines or any Cvars I can add to the CFG files that would force Steam Sin to start up without hardware acceleration? I haven't been able to find anything like "no_opengl" or something like that.

Re: Getting Steam Sin to run in software rendering mode

I think the lowest screenmode is 680*480 in the steam version and software mode isn't supported anymore, but be feel to try with those command variables.

It's still not working. I guess I'll just have to try and dig up my old pre-Steam copy if I want to play Sin 1.

Thanks.
