Re: Emergence: Rights and wrongs

Alyx wasn't invincible? I don't remember her ever dying when I played through it, and I was pretty negligent of her a few times.

Re: sin is better

I'm personally enjoying Episode 1 more. I'm finding it less dull than I found HL2, and it seems to me to have more variety than Emergence. Also, Alyx doesn't annoy the snot out of me like Jessica...

Re: Emergence: Rights and wrongs

I really don't remember, it was late. :b Might've been a poor choice of words, I don't actually know what I was trying to get at.

I always get that. I basically never use grenades.

Re: Emergence: Rights and wrongs

Some of your ideas sound a bit subjective to me, but for the most part I think you make some really good points about character and story development, and ways in which the gameplay could be made...

Re: Different approaches to Action-Based Outcomes.

Use the keyboard to the right of that holographic map thingy. JC tells you it's the right computer when you look at it.

Re: Time Discrepencies

Maybe the "minute" in "kills per minute" is refering to minutes in combat?

Re: Different approaches to Action-Based Outcomes.

Hehe, wasn't expecting anyone from the DX community to recognize me here. :b
I've been part of TNM for several months. After posting info at DXE about my DX mod, Jonas really liked some of its...

Re: You wanted BLADE TALK in Emergence? Look here!

It was kinda cool, but it usually felt fairly obvious to me that it was hacked together. I don't blame you at all for that, it was pretty cool considering the limitations you had to work with. ...

Re: Advanced Tactics

I only just noticed that on my last playthrough when beating up lab scientists. In my experience, you don't need to be standing still, though. I was running toward them, and when I hit the melee...

Re: SiN Episodes: Emergence Feedback and Suggestio

It'd be interesting if they opened different parts of it in each episode, depending on what kind of mission you were about to go on. Like, if you were expecting to have to drive in a car chase, they...

Re: Different approaches to Action-Based Outcomes.

I also agree. I always thought the idea of the "ppopularity contest" style ABOs was a really weird idea. You'd be playing the game, and it would be like "Oh, you let X happen in the previous...

Re: Great but expensive - TOO expensive

I would argue that it's the other way around. Gordon is you. He has little character of his own, leaving you to project yourself onto him. In other games, like Sin, I think you're left to roleplay...

Re: IGN reviews SiN Episodes: Emergence

I don't think either of the Elexis scenes mentioned in the review were necessarily just "for the sake of it."

Re: IGN reviews SiN Episodes: Emergence

I like how he whines about Elexis. "Oh noes, my friends will think I'm a pervert because Elexis has boobies!"

Haha, awesome. I might actually give the episode a second playthrough once this is done.

Re: Suggestions for future episodes

And I know the running away without a weapon made sense, but that part of the game could have been structured differently.
But don't mind me, I'm just bitter...
