paint alpha on displacement

I was just messing around with a displacement and couldn't paint the alpha channel on a couple different terrain textures. I can invert it. Is it just me or is it busted for other people too?

Jessica wasn't designed to be a passenger but she might fire at enemy grunts if she hates them enough. You can use an ai_relationship to tell her to hate them. She won't lean out the windows on her...

I've used func_door and func_button a lot so I know they work.
How are you using them? Make a brush, right click on it and choose tie to entity, choose func_door or func_button and hit apply.

I think a good way to start a DM style map is to start by just drawing out the flow / paths that you think would be a fun place to run and jump around in. Usually after sketching for a little while ...

You might also want to use an entity called npc_enemyfinder. Just give it the same squad name as the grunts. You can also fire off a scripted sentence that tell the grunts to run toward the player...
