I can’t say I’m that fond of the rifle design - it doesn’t look all that functional; the grip and clip are too small (and oddly shaped), the scope isn’t set high enough, and the grenade attachment...

But even in that situation full-body awareness is not necessary, nor is it guaranteed to add to the experience especially if it’s not done with great care. Nothing can take you out of a game faster...

Whether or not you cast a shadow has nothing to do with whether there is ‘body awareness’ in the game and everything to do with whether or not dynamic shadows are in the game and you have them turned...

Did you check the provided source map(s) and corresponding script files(s)? Should be some hints in there on how to get it work. You could also play through the game and find a specific example of it...
