DX7 = invisible water?
I have an ATI Radeon 9000, running the latest Catalyst drivers. Normally, it can run in DX 8.1, but I'm running in 7.0 at the moment to evade the mutagen bug. This forces the game into Simple Reflections for the water (which I kept it on in 8.1), and Low Shader Detail.
I can see where the surface of the water is--it's a brownish... well, body of water. But everything underwater, I can see perfectly fine through the water. There's no obscuration like there is on higher DX levels. (The underwater effects are the same, as far as I can remember.)
I'll try to get screenshots, if that'll help. I'm just wondering if this difference is a "known difference" for lower-end graphics cards or not. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]
