Deleting the .blob file did nothing, I'm assuming you were refering to the client registry .blob file, not the app update stats .blob file? I only tried deleting the Client one.
Anyway they still havn't emailed me back yet, the women from the games store said she has alot of trouble with faulty activation codes and steam in general. Apparently Blizzard products are troublsome too.
Anyway i'm pissed off and cant wait to play it, but i'm stuck having to look at screens and watchin the trailer.
I'm considering getting HL2: Episode1 as Episode2 looks great, and has Portal and TF2 included, but the problems with steam have really turned me off it.
Anyone else have trouble with steam?
