I had a mouse problem in Q4. When the game started the mouse was not moving and there was two pointers on the screen the one from the game and Windows one.
At that time I read on Q4 tech forum that copying dinput.dll from Quake4\DirectX folder to my windows\system32 folder will solve the issue and it did. Later I forgot about it (too many games to tinker with). I am not a computer specialist, I just know enough to be dangerous for my system.
