Default Early Review of CZ

look at that! Qoute:

Looks like the Sept issue of PC Zone (UK Version) confirms that CS:CZ will be released the 22nd. Readers can look forward to a full review of CS:CZ. On an interesting note, the final score was only 79.

ohh.. 79 points!?? is that a joke!!?

August 22nd would only be the release date in the UK and other European countries. If August 22nd is the official UK release date, the game would probably be released in North America the preceding or following Tuesday, August 19/26.

that's what i was thinking. 79% is pretty damn good considering it wasn't a final version of the game.

Yeah, well, I saw an article in Game Informer or whatever about Condition Zero... saying it's "due out August 12th". Hopefully they're right... or a little off at most.

Can you answer questions about the final version that he said were missing? I've only got a few: (1) are weapons able to be picked up?, (2) will they spawn like stated in the article?

That's all I really have. Because if the game even uses Half-Life AI it's already better than 1/2 the FPS games out today (which I find sad that few games still even touch HL AI).

Also: that MP5 model and FAMAS model (from what I can see of it) look awesome

Kevin, I don't think ritual is going to make us run in software mode only--just guessing.

I'm more concerned about if what they said about the new MP maps not making it, and the hi-def pack not working in MP, but I'm fairly certain both of those features were missing just because it was an unfinished product-- still a confirmation would be nice.

Since both of those things were promised by Ritual employees, I'm almost 100% positive they will be in the final product.

You were being sarcastic about the AI right?

Not at all. Ritual added new techniques to the AI, as well as scripted sequences. This added with the AI that was already there from Half-Life is all I need. Half-Life's AI beats, at the very least, half the FPS games out today. They duck for cover, throw grenades, call for help, communicate, the whole 9 yards.

Bahaha. Thats like someone reviewing hl2 based on the technology demo. A prereleased beta review isn't even worth reading.
