Default LAW Question

Hey, I am not trying to be picky, just realistic. The LAW(Light Anti-Tank Weapon) was decommisioned shortly before or during the Gulf War. Why Is it in CZ? Thats like useing a bazooka! Kinda off huh.

Another thing. Will there be HMMWVs(High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle. Humvees for u civilians) in CZ? And I have seen choppers in CZ screens. What kind are you going to use? Blackhawks, "Little Birds", what? If so, willl the players be able to use the mounted M123 Vulcan Machine guns on them or will that be manned by a NPC?

Thx for your time.

Being the uneducated Peon that I am I can only comment on one thing!

As far as I know the Helicopters/trucks/vehicles of all sorts will only be used to get you too the fighting rather than being a major part of it. (Something like the Ospray introduction to Opposing Force if you need an example) So I don't think people will be using the Vulcan in game.

The opening scene of SiN, Ritual's previous FPS, allowed you to use the helicopter mounted guns and shoot down thugs on rooftops.

I read that you will be able to move around in vehicles, fire from them sometimes, and get briefed in them for some missions.

vehicles - no you can't drive around in them during the missions. after all, this is the HL engine we're talking about.

there are helicopters of many different types; to list them would spoil the excitement of seeing it for the first time.

the weapons are based directly off the cstrike code (damage, balistics, etc.). they have been tweaked to make the single-player game more enjoyable.

why a LAW rocket? well... why not? it blows stuff up. who doesn't like to blow stuff up?

what maps have vehicles in them? Half-Life engine doesn't support this! Unless you mean vehicles that follow a path of their own?

for a short time there was vehicle support in CStrike. it was bad. very bad. horrible collision detection, imo, and they got stuck on just about anything. there's a good reason they were dropped from the game. Sure they might make a nice addition to the game in the future, but not in an 8 year old game engine that has plenty of existing collision issues without any help from complex vehicle physics.

Brushbaron there were actually maps with vehicle support in them. We used to play a little CS at work from time to time, and I do remember a map that was an ALDI warehouse where you could drive around.
