Default Steam

For reasons unimportant, I purchased the DVD version of the game, and I should be getting it tomorrow--or Monday if UPS messes up.

Here's what I am wondering about. I already have Steam installed and updated as I still play HL2 from time to time. Will installing Sin: Emergence cause any conflicts, or will the installer hopefully realize I already have Steam installed and not 1.) reinstall everything, or 2.) install a second copy?

Also, assuming the best, will I be able to use my current Steam account (username/password), or will I have to maintain two separate accounts, one for HL2 stuff and one for Sin stuff?

I tested with and without Steam installed for the installer.

If Steam is installed, it will just copy over the cache files and then you'll have to activate the key using the shortcut in Steam. You can use the same account for HL2 and S:E.
