Default Video Resolution problems

Hi, can someone please help! I installed sin ep and while the opening scenes where running through (in the car) i thought i'd downgrade the graphics to get it to run a little smoother, this is where it all went wrong. I accidently clicked a resolution my monitor cant handle and then the game crashed, now every time i go to play it it comes up in the resolution my monitor doesnt support. i have uninstalled and reinstalled everything to do with steam and sin about 3 times now and it still doesnt change back to how it was when i originally installed it. does anyone know if i can change the resolution before entering the game? please help i really want to play this game!

The easiest way to do this is to go to the Start Menu, select Run..., type in "REGEDIT" and press the "OK" button.

In the left tree, go to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Valve\Source\SE1

Delete that key.
