Default Okay so there is a definite sound stuttering probl

Well there's officially a BAD stuttering problem with this game. Don't mean to post the obvious but it's annoying. Here I thought it was my sound driver but it turns out it's definitely not that because I've tried it with my new PCI sound card and I get the same stuttering and lag spikes when there's noise. Everyone else seems to be having the same problem. About 4 of my friends have the same problem and they all have different sound cards. So I guess it is the engine? Any clue when this will be fixed? I get a perfect frame rate with this game on max settings. Just the sound causes bad spikes.

My fiancee was getting bad stuttering on her machine.
I went into the console and set Snd_Async_FullyAsync to 1 and it cleared up.

Hey that worked quite well. Thanks. Still getting some small lag with some sound and a little bit of stuttering but I can actually play now.

It's not a perfect fix, as she gets a little stutter when loading, but once the level loads it tends to stop.
But glad I could help a little

Yeah so I can't stand the sound stutter/lag in this game. Some spots it isn't bad but some spots it's really awful and it kills the framerate. Anyone know if this crap is going to be fixed? The console commands really don't help that much and I've basically tried everything to fix it.

We are still trying to get the code merged with the latest version of the source engine. Hopefully when this is released, these issues will be alleviated. I'm sorry I don't have any better news for you at this point.
