remember sin before the patch?
well here is sin after the patch doing it again, i started it at 10 by the way.



now notice the blue line, ya now think about where that line would of been 5 minutes later if i would of had that screen shot..grouping problem. i killed over 100 people and about 13 mins later they killed me some how, and i was only at level 23 from 10. i couldn't get out two guys at a time was coming in every half a second.

I've also seen the Framerate jump to <20 which makes it VERY difficult to play in. this framerate is actually WORSE than the SP area with the docks! I think this has to do with NPC's.

Very nice map!! I love the attention to detail. The framerate does dip pretty low at times though.

I thought i should say that im still working on this map. Developent have slow down because of two things, one being school just started and the second, well i cant really tell as of now, but maybe in a month or two.

Stuff i changed so far includes the npcs, the outside looks much better, rework some brushes to prevent bugs, fixed texture bugs.

Here's a few changes over the past week.

-Added hints for npc's to help them with taking cover.

-Increase the performance of the map majorly. Runs smooth most of the time now.

-Added physic traps around the map.

-Added background music, fits well, but I think its copyrighted. Does anyone know where I can find music thats not protected and free to use?

-Changed how the map start.

-Added an outro if you survive long enough.

-Changed npc's for better performance.

Hope to get the some screenshots very soon. I'm going to release it here on editing forum for final testing and once all bugs are ironed out, it will be released as final. If no bugs are found, I'll then release it under completed maps and mods.

The map have also reach 60mb, double the size of Beta 2, and yet its amazingly faster. So there is something in this map to look forward too.

Hehe, dm version will have a decreased amount of detail than the arena map, to ensure that fps are higher than the single player counter part.

Okay guys. I wanted to share something extrordinary with you today. My Submerge map is going through its final fases, expect screenshots within two weeks(hopefully). I'm so happy with what I have created. Also, I think alot will be happy with the changes I made(even small stuff, such as node placement) to the map. I still have to decide wether I want to keep the water under the glass or replace it with something else. It is one of the main causes of fps drops, about 8-15 frames, I'm experimenting with different kinds of water. I will probably end up creating my own that aint so expensive.

I really feel I have made a major breakthrough(for me atleast) in the A.I. today. They are truely amazing when you watch them now.

So please guys, if there is anything you want to see, no matter how small, in this map, please tell me.

Multiplayer version coming soon after release(maby both get released at the same time.)

Beta 3 is so to say, completed for about three weeks already. The only reason for not releasing it, is that the a.i. uses alot of resources, since the begining of the project. When i +showbudget the npc bar is above 15ms. That is what is causing the framedrop. There is never more than 5 npc's at a time, so i can't really understand why it is so high. If anyone can help me out with this problem i would really appreaciate it. Please, i really want to make the best map possible.

Heck I should get a blog(not that anyone would read it though)

If fix the a.i. problem, it was caused by having to many npc_enemyfinder's in the map. I've adding the last bells and whistles and polishishing it out now in hope of getting a release on Friday, 22nd June.

It does indeed, hopefully it will be faster on my pc now!

Any chance of making a MP version for USEMP ? Rather than Arena Maps ? Just multiple spawn points and such?

Well, what can I say. Beta 3 is here :P

No more chit-chat. Here's the thing

Sin Episodes: Emergence Submerge Arena Map

Submerge is set in an underwater facility. Inspired by bioshock, motivated by lack of arena maps.

Beta 3 Changes include:
-Improved NPC A.I.
-Added more spawn points
-Changed outside ocean tremendously
-Added background music
-Changed alot of prop_physics_override to prop_static, better performance and works better for gameplay.
-Changed some textures
-Added a secret(still need to add it to the stats)
-Added shimmer textures near glass windows
-Added explosive barrels
-Added ammo pickups
-Changed lighting in some areas
-Added intro and outro
-Added detail to overall map.
-Improved framerates in some areas
-Just simply, alot more spit and polish!
