Hm, I have that tested, if that works then I should make a sticky at the forrum. I know Nvidia has doen some modifications to the driver to fix that opengl 4.0 issue with older games, wasn't aware ati also got things roling finally.

Driver perform optimization differently, depending on the name of the executable. This is definitely a dirty hack, but sometimes it's the only way for driver developers to provide performance for different applications. As I could understand at finding a solution to the problem of poor performance EF2 on a modern computer, some old programs, initializing opengl extensions, can not correctly handle a large number of new extensions in modern drivers, and in such cases the drivers provided workarounds for the most popular programs. It works for me. After renaming EF2.exe to quake3.exe game started to work well on the graphics card HD5670.
Looks like i should start mapping again

Wow!!! I can't believe it! It works for me too!!!! I'm on the older drivers (10.5) and it works by renaming the exe. Who would have thought something that simple could make such a difference!

I have created a new thread and linked that one here, so someone looking for the solution does not have to read the entire thread, since it is already two pages long.
