Default Activation Process

Just wondering; will we have to restart Steam for it to take effect, or is it alright to have it running beforehand?

Yes, you will have to restart steam and log back in. The unlocking process should be seemless.

There was a small bug with this small download when red orchestra was released, it didn't activate the download automatically to complete the install. So after the game decrypted, the users double clicked on the exe and...nothing. Try it again...nothing.

Fortunatly that download could be manually forced by simply verifying the data after it had been unlocked. Valve said they fixed it for red orchestra so it would automatically finish the download after unlock, but I don't know if this was a game specific bug or a general steam bug. Anyways, if they didn't fix it, now everyone knows the workaround.

Confirmed, it's 7 minutes past and no unlock. The steam boards are going ape.

Good point, but now it's more ape than usual. About 2 pages were added to the countdown thread in a little under a minute.

Same with my copy in Michigan, I restarted Steam and it says "Pre-loading complete, unreleased" but in the Steam store browser inside Steam, it says Play Now for Emergence, but I still get the unreleased error message when I click on the Play Now button.

It was funny. Some guy said "I give it 5 minutes before people demand a refund." So true... Hahaha.

Heh. My DSL connection keeps crashing. And SiNE isn't out yet? Argh!

I'm sure the lack of response from Ritual is them calling up Steam and saying "WTF Man!?"

Meh. This happens with every game on Steam. It's the one negative point about it...

EDIT: Hey, look at that, a Ritual guy posted on the Steam forums saying that he certainly wasn't laughing about the delay. Hey, Ritual guys? Make a new thread with an official 'we're looking into it' post?

I restarted my PC, then restarted Steam after my PC booted up and Steam unlocked the files for Emergence.
