Default Disappearing models

I have noticed that, if you move far enough away from models on a map, they will fade away. Yet I also notice the ent-e model does NOT fade away. What makes the ent-e stay and can that be applied to other models?

That's Ritual's LOD system in work.. instead of just 3 levels (like other Q3 games) the models use a different method of calculating lods.
Lods for each model can be defined in the TIK file.
Example in a character TIK:
lod 200 1.0 2500 .2 6144
Example of the Ent-e
lod 10 1.0 20 1.0 1

Now I don't know what exactly those values do. The documentation doesn't say anything about it, but they're basically the reason why some models change lods faster than others

Interesting. I'll have to play around with it and see what that does. Thanks
