So, I've considered buying a used copy of the game, but I have to wonder. Will this run on Windows 7? The Demo refused to run for me.

EF2 can work under Windows 7.

You have to change some settings in the Executable properties.
You might also need to set these attributes to the Installer so ef2 can be installed correctly.

- Run this program in compatibility mode for:
Windows XP service Pack 3
- Disable Desktop Composition
- Disable Visual Themes
- Run as Administrator
- Disable Display scaling on high DPI settings

You might also want to disable User Account Control,
most games work better without it.

Install the patch 1.1 once the game has been successfully installed.

I wrote a complete tutorial how to Install Star Trek: Elite Force II on Windows 7. The current Version of the Tutorial is in German only. A English version will follow soon.

The tutorial also goes into altering the Windows HOSTS file, so that Multiplayer Server can be found again, using the new Master Server. There are numerous Images to simplify the procedures.
