Default Need Help - Prophet II GTS Pro Card

Hi Folks,

I got the new Hercules Guillemot Prophet
II GTS Pro video card on Windows 98, PentIII
866, 256 MB of PC 133 RAM, ABIT VH-6 motherboard. I installed Sin and all the patches up to 1.06. The problem is that I can't set the video controls to maximize this card. The video control options in SIN doesn't allow me enough options to select the right choice for my video card. It looks crappy at default open gl. I have all the latest video drivers from Hercules installed. Any recommendations?

THANKS!

Abit VH-6 ... that is a motherboard based on VIA-chipset. Have you reinstalled the VIA 4 in 1 drivers ?

Hi Guys,

I don't have this problem with other games. The biggest problem with the default open gl is the brightness is poor. I set it as high as I could and it's still not bright enough. It just doesn't seem to be the best setting visually. I have not tried to reinstall the VIA 4 in 1 drivers on my VH-6 motherboard. Hope that will solve the problem. Please send any other ideas! Will the latest SIN patches fix this?

Thanks!

AH! I had that problem....till I fixed it. Can't remember how I fixed it though...maybe it was with a video driver tweak. What tweak util do you use?

As I recall, the gl_gamma setting fixes this problem. Look in your .cfg file.

I do believe he said he put the gamma to max. Was gl_modulate one of the ones that changes brightness?

Hi There again,

I got some advice suggesting that I use the console to change the gamma settings of the game. How do you do that? Also what would be the proper settings? It appears this low brightness problem does occur in various games. Thanks for helping!
