Question Few questions about multiplayer.

Will it be tweakable or will you go with that "it's unfair to others"? Also, is it going to be a sort of standalone thing to where I can have just the mp installed and not the whole sp campaign like with Half-Life 2? Another question, will it be soon or is it still a long time off (I don't really expect an answer for this one)

I heard somewhere its a co-op feature but i could be wrong.

And tweaking(cheating) is for those who cant play properly if you mean it in that way i dont really agree with it but i dont care about it either just aslong as it doesn't screw with my gaming experiance for the other players i couldnt give a stuff.

i would hope its stand alone feature but if it does look like it will be co-op missions it will most likley be inbuilt to sin episode itself.

no release date yet but around the same time episode 2 is ready for release we could see multiplayer come aswell maybe sooner.

Multiplayer could be just about anything right now. The survey that Ritual posted on their site a few months ago (which, might I say, was excellent) indicates that, as usual, they're following what their fans want.

Me, I want a Battlefield 2-style multiplayer mode, but without vehicles and with somewhat less expansive maps to compensate for Source's map-size limitations, as well as the lack of motorized transportation.

Back on topic, I think that only the Ritual devs could answer your questions, Gibaholic.

huh..? I wasn't claiming that it'd be cheating.

i didnt imply that you would cheat but i saw modding or tweaking as you put it kinda cheating or just re skining bots and that i was unsure at the time and i hope i didnt offend you.

i just thought mods was another way of cheating i was mistaken.

It depends on the specific mod in question, I suppose. Since Emergence works with Steam there would probably have to be dedicated multiplayer servers for 'tweaked' games or something along those lines. I don't know what Half-Life 2 has done for server support (I'm just using that as an example of a Steam game with multiplayer). I'm sure people fondly remember LAN setups and priming their own server to do the dirty work for them.

I'm assuming it's going to be a team oriented game because I found these two variables in the config.

cl_team "default"
cl_class "default"

Indeed. Co-op is one of the most neglected PC features nowadays. And granted,it'd be a bit more work, all I ask is for 3 levels, and more with future updates.

Windows XP ---- ASUS A8N-e mobo ---- AMD 64 3000+ ---- 1.5GB RAM ---- eVGA GeForce 7600GT ---- Audigy 2

My work.
