Word around the campfire is that there is no private chatting on servers... That is extremely bad news, especially for the RPG servers out there. Please fix it (if it's already there, let me know [img]/forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif[/img]). Another thing is cheats.

They worked fine for me at first, but after connecting to a server I could no longer use them in single player... I don't know what the problem is.

Edit: The error the console gives me when the mode is set to sv_cheats1 is "cheats is read only", even though I'm playing on a single player map! (I started a game with New Game)...

have you got +set sv_cheats 1 at the end of your windows shortcut command line.

also check the spacing, I had trouble with that.

did you have exactly following path in your desktop icon ?:

C:\Programme\Activision\EF2\EF2.exe +set cheats 1

Yes, I had both. It worked fine at first... now it's not.

you could try deleteing or moving the .cfg out of the ef2\base folder... the .cfg tends to be named with your windows login name.

you could also try opening it in notepad or similar txt editor and searching for keywords like ui_console, cheats and developer and if so, check they are set to "1"

You need to save your SP game and then restart the game - cos when you load a new game it resets it back to sv_cheats 0 for some reason.

Cheats are also disabled when you join an online server.

Mr_Murphy, I`d forgotten about that, but then I load my (cheat enabled) saved game from my autoexec.cfg using the line...

wait 100; loadgame ratty_game

where ratty_game is the name I quicksave to by having a key binding in my autoexec.cfg of...

bind F6 "savegame ratty_game"

I also have...

bind F9 "loadgame ratty_game"

which is just an easy and quick way for me to quickload without having to hunt through all the auto save slots.
