ATi 9700 get Catalyst v3.5 drivers, solved my lock
my game locked up loading mission 3 Dallas, went to ATi and loaded Catalyst v3.5 driver(display and control panel) and holy moly the game runs now!!!!!!!!

Yup. Activision's first suggestion to solve this problem is to make sure you have the latest video and sound card drivers.
