![]() Hello to all. I have the following problem: I've recently bought a brand new Audigy2 soundcard. Have installed it and tried out the awsome EF2. However, I have very choppy gameplay. My rig: Epox 8KHA+, 2x256 DDRAM, XP2000+, Audigy2 (basic version), GF4 Ti4200 with 128 Mb, HDD Maxtor 40 Gb, Win98SE.
My first problem was that with the default driver installation for the Audigy2, when selecting EAXx from the Audio section in the game, my gameplay was verry choppy. When selecting Auto, the game selects Software mode. If I do use Software mode the game runs as smooth as silk, but, of course, thisis just like half the fun without proper audio. Have addressed this issue on the Creative forum, and it seems that via the default driver installation, Creative is installing WDM drivers which are NOT reccommended for use under Win98SE. Have thus uninstalled the WDM's and forced installation of the VXD's. When I now run the game it will not even allow me tu use EAXx: it just switches to Software mode irrespective of what setting I choose. Any solutions/ideas for getting the game (or is it the other way araound, the card) to run properly with EAXx under Win98SE? |

![]() Thanks Mango. The problem is that Creative firmly stated that they will not develop further VXD drivers (these are native to Win98SE), and they will only concentrate/update/work on their WDM drivers.
