Default WOS CTF Bug Reports

Hiya - I'm filtering bug reports for Carl (General War T) regarding the WOS CTF Beta 3. Please include all the information possible about the problems you encounter including your system configuration, etc:

System config - hardware and drivers
DirectX version, etc
Operating system
Problem occurred how?

This will help Carl get any major bugs knocked out faster - the problem can be examined and checked out. I will try to reply to all bug reports - it may take a day or two to get back to you. Please send reports to smack2@swbell.net. Thanks everyone!

My ...and many other ppl's HUD's are gone now...can't get em back, - and + doesn't work..nor does shift and - or +...

please help.

I smashed a fly on the screen while WOS CTF was downloading.

There were some magots eating an old rotten Big Mac by the train station today as well.

Ill let you know if I see anymore bugs

just installed wos ctf, and my regular hud is still ok. but can't find a game ... where is everyone playing?

fixed that hud problem

this is what i did

*I went to game options to change my hud to something else, then go into the game and pressed (shif/+/-) then its back again, simple as that*

just played some on cobra's server, spry wos ctf, and it was kewl with the hoverbikes. my 1st impression is overall excellent, but with so few SiNNers left, don't know if it's enough to create a big new surge of players.

2 Spectator mode bugs:

a)
When you go to spectator mode, it leaves your old body behind. It stands out because it uses your skin you've set in your configs--not the ctf skins. When your old body dies, it respawns and can be killed again and again.

b)
Typing Team Blue or Team Red doesn't allow you to return to the game as it does in regular Sin CTF.


1 Hoverbike Bug:
a)
First off, let me say I understand the convention that you can only get on a bike that is your team color or silver. However, I did see people of one team riding the other team color's bike. I haven't done it personally, but I would wager it has to do with someone driving a bike, getting off, then a person from the opposite team getting on that bike. That would mean the state of the bike isn't being reset correctly...

I think there are some more bugs, but that's all I can remember right now.

I can confirm hoverbike "Bug". I was red. On para a blue team mamber pulled up to red base in the small ally to courtyard right of "garage" entrance. He got off the hover and grappled away. At the time I didn't know that there was supposed to be a setting to disable this. I just jumped on and drove to the enemy base on the hoover.

These bugs were found by me on the Gamepoint server, and as I haven't tried playing on any other server, I don't know if they are server specific or not.

1) Armor bug: Once I was able to collect each piece of armor twice, and had 199 points for each piece

2)Health bug: I was able to collect over 1000 health points (the counter reset to 103, but counted back down to 999, so it was over 1000 health points). This, with full armor and a splash damage rune, allowed me to survive a near miss with a nuke. Holding the Vampire Rune limited my health to 400 max, and holding the Health Rune limited my health to 300 max, but any other rune, or no rune at all, allowed me to seemingly have limitless health. There is a demo of me surviving the nuke, and also surviving 5-10 direct hits with thrall balls.

Well i played a lil tonite and the grapple seemed really slow .. people in the gamew were saying it was lag .. but i had 200-220 ping .. its moved faster with 350 ping ... kinda didnt like it .. i dunno if it was slowed up on purpose or what...

I confirm hoverbike, Health and Ammor bug!
I did notice that I can get 1,000+ Health with any "NEW" Tech Power up in my hands! At one point a person can snipe me and I could not die "NO I was not using Shield! Also You can Grapple your Guided Rocket, but very hard to do! Humm anything else well yes put more spawn points in for the Tech Powerups When a game started I seen 6 of them all in one spot! Wow a lot to choose from ! Also why do I need the flash light? Cmon now there no need for that! Put the New taunts not all on ALT+1 with put different taunt each time you hit it put each one on a different button like ALT+1 ALT+2 and get rid of the old ones there for the orginal CTF! I know I am bitching but I waited so long I expected to see none!

to me a 'bug' is something that limits game enjoyment. didn't notice any in my games, just kept thinking how much action there would be with more than 2 players and all those WoS weapons. thanx General War T!

Thanks for the info - I'll collate all this and knock out a condensed version for Mr. War T this afternoon. I'll try and duplicate any of the bugs I can, and if you've got others, especially fatal game errors (server or client side), shoot a note directly to my email (smack2@swbell.net) - I'll be home all week, so they'll get off to the man as soon as I can hit the forward button .

Actually, wos ctf never crashed once while I was playing it. Also, it seemed to run smoother and with less lag than a wos dm server. I don't know if that's because I recently went from a 33.6k connection up to a 56k, but the gameplay difference was even more noticeable than in regular sin or sinctf.

hi...just been playing on Gamepoint.

System spec:

P3 450 128mb
ASUS V3800 tnt2,agp 32 meg
Windoze98

Having problems moving around in the SiNtek flagroom (wosctf_para), its like all the lag in the world is holding a convention in there :-{
But it is not due to lag as the rest of the map is fine..

Got some reports sent off to Carl today - I don't know how long it will be before we get word back, as he and 2015 are evidently up to their eyeballs in their next project. Hang in there, and keep those bug reports coming .

Also, are there any other WOS CTF servers running besides Gamepoint? We need some US servers so modem players can reach the servers. I can try to fire one up on my system, but my connection is a bit skinny for CTF . Lanik? Do you have access to a machine that could run a server at certain times of the day?

Seems that when people are riding the
hoverbikes that they are standing
completely upright, not sitting on
the hoverbike, and there were many dead
bodies just standing around.

I'm on a modem, and Gamepoint is giving me about as good a connection/ping as most American servers I've played on. In fact, it's been playing better for me than LA Sinners lately.

I would have access to one, Smack but it wouldn't run it very well We've got some older machines and our network is whacked. GTE did our networking....to anyone who knows what that means, it speaks volumes.

This aint no bug but i think the red light on the sniper has to go it is annoying and just makes it frustrating to snipe while jumping around.

Bluebird - I saw that as well. I'll report the bike issues - I think Lanik spotted a problem with the bikes states not being reset properly, as well.

Lanik - GTE is evil. I recommend an exorcist ...

I tried to setup a wos server. See below for
server cfg. I started the server at my work
then went home. When I connected from home,
as soon as map loaded there was a timelimit ?

Obviously I can confirm kAmALAs error report. After It happened three times I realized something was seriously wrong. Afraid I might crash I gave up on it

Hope we can get this one straightened out as I would like to actually play some WOS CTF. I've had only 2 games of it so far
