None of the CZ missions take place from the eyes of a terrorist. See this thread for a number of reasons why terrorist missions were not designed because they might be regarded as insensitive or offensive, especially in today's war climate. They would bring negative press to the CS franchise and possibly the entire gaming industry, although negative press doesn't necessarily hurt sales .

Regarding co-op mode, an update to Sven Co-op 2.1 is now available. Try out this mod for a better idea of problems with co-op under the HL engine.

The patch allows you to play through the game co-operatively, from the end of the introduction (train ride) to the final battle, with only a few minor sections skipped. Many maps have been updated to better suit multiple players... more monsters have been added, as well as new types of monsters. Some maps have been altered to reduce lag.

There is generally a double standard when it comes to mods and commercial products. A commercial product can never work out with all of the short comings and oddities that sven co-op has had in the past. I havenít played the new patch but I imagine it would take a miracle for sven co-op to become what it would need to be for it to be on store shelves.

Anything is possible. It could be released within days, weeks or months of the date the PC version hits shelves.

Valve planned to develop CS for the Xbox years ago and it's been in the works possibly long before the project landed at Ritual Entertainment. Gabe Newell, Founder of Valve, stated in an interview that Xbox is the ideal platform to deliver CS and said the game will really take advantage of its capabilities. I'd expect much more than a direct port undergoing a face-lift.

Possibly if someone gets around to coding it. To be honest, 2 players going up against bots sounds kinda lame. I'd rather see 2 players competing in some type of versus mode like an accuracy contest.

Split-screen mode in traditional CS multiplayer would take away the element of stealth and surprise. Then again, expert players can usually predict where an opponent is likely to be in any given map. So 2 expert players might head in the same direction and face-off, the better player should come out victorious. Split-screen mode on Xbox live (if this is possible) with a friend as a teammate could be fun.

That's very hard to predict with game developers nowadays. I will say the absolute latest plausible release window is Winter 2003.

Usually the level designer will decide how many players are allowed in a map. Currently, CS maps support up to 32 players. Most maps allow only 20 players because the maps were not designed to be huge environments that can accommodate 32 players - there's simply not enough room in some maps.

Counter-Strike for the Xbox is a different story, it doesn't have some of the design limitations with the PC version. A broadband connection is required to play on Xbox Live (bandwidth is less of an issue) and Xbox developers don't have to worry about low-end computers so theoretically maps could become larger and accommodate up to 64 players.

Setting the number of bots is pretty much a standard option in 1st-person shooters. You probably will also be able to customize AI attributes such as the difficulty level and handicaps.

I can't speculate on that. I don't know what multiplayer features are being implemented for offline play.

Supposedly the AI is similar to the enemies in Half-Life (single player).

That's a good question. Obviously the bots will simulate the actions of human players. The programmers could've accomplished this in a number of ways, such as a combination of waypoints and algorithms.

We'll have to wait and see...
