Default EF2 resolution settings - Widescreen

In EF1 there was a resolution option for widescreen, i liked to use this as i sometimes use the tv in my room to play games on. I have noticed that this is not included in the pre-release demo, is this something that will be in the final version because i dont like to use the tv's feature that streatches a normal 4:3 picture to 16:9 as it makes everything look streatched.

There's no such option to my knowledge.

ASSIM BLOWS SHEEP!!!

That's a shame about widescreen though - maybe if you set the FOV higher to get an anamorphic effect - then get the telly to stretch it.

For EF1 I have...

seta cg_fov "100"

...in my hmconfig.cfg file. the default is 90 (degrees, roughly) and the higher the number the more "info" you get on the screen. I have it set to 100 so that I can see down both corridors at once when standing at a corner.
I'd guess about 120-130 to convert 4:3 to 16:9, but you need to suck it & see.

changing FOV gives you more info, but it doesnt change the resolution, so basically the screen will have more info (larger viewing angle), but not "spread it out" over a larger X axis

I'm sure I didnt use proper terms, but you know what I mean

Yes, I know what you mean & you're right - as far as you go.
By setting your FOV higher you are doing the equivalent of squeezing a widescreen picture along the horizontal axis to fit a 4:3 image, I was assuming that the telly will then stretch it back out to widescreen - ok, the pixels won't be square anymore, but as the telly will downconvert them anyway, the fuzzy effect will mask that.
