The only game I have seen this happen to is DNF, but that's the only exception. Delaying of games is a regular thing. It happens alot. You choose whether or not to believe every release date you see. Though if you do, you're setting yourself up for alot of disappointment.

I agree whole heartedly with Baron about what he stated, and it is 100% true. People only complain about release dates because they're impatient. If they really want to play a game, they're going to buy it and play it reguardless of the release date. In fact, I trust a company MORE when they delay games for ensured quality. It lets me know that the company cares about the quality of the game, not just how much money they're gonna make off of it.

Anyway, that's just my two cents.

Hmmm, it seems this game is in the exact same position as Lock On Modern Air Combat (fighter plane game)
it has been in developement for 5 years. it just keeps getting delayed

Umm this is the first suposed delay for HL2. There have been suspicions about Half-Life 2 until a couple months ago Valve made it offical to the public that Half Life 2 has been in development.
