dude, you reverse psychologied yourself..

make a backup of your save files to another location on the HD.. if you delete some by accident you can copy them back in..

I recently checked my my savegames folder at almost finishing the game and it was 1GB! Having 40gb its not that bad, but isnt 1gb a bit big for (even a big) collection of savegame files. Isn't all it needs to save is a small screenshot, and the position of all the objects?

160Gb!
Wow, that huge.

Anyway I'm the kind of person that saves the game after to -1 damage to a boss lol, or after killing one wave of aliens.

hehe, I'm the same.. I just save every 3-5 minutes in any game lol.
Though i usually resave on the same save file, so for each level I only have 1 save file as I go along. This way I don't use up tons of space and I don't have to guess which was the save I wanted

Overwrite may not have been the best word
I mean that I delete the last save for that level and then save

Sounds like a "manual" overwrite to me.

Yes you can. When your in the game, press escape where u want to save, then go save, click on a previous save file and click save. It will ask you if you wan't to overwrite the file, click yes.

BTW, those 1GB of saves of mine included MANY overwrites and it was still that size.

I'm a cautious gamer

I save every 3 min or more offen after hard bits so I won't have to do it again and I used to delete my saves but I don't anymore. One thing that bugs me is the gold starships. If I dont find any it bugs me the rest of the evening

you don't really need to be a cautious gamer... ef2 will be that for you... it seems to save the game every two minutes

hehe, that's so true.
But I'm so freaked out about killing a big exo that as soon as I killed him I save.. then walk a little further on and then EF2 automatically saves lol.
I'm playing the SP part again now and so far I've reached the Ent hull mission without 'manually saving' during the game..

that's where i was up to before i deleted the save... but i guess it doesn't matter since i'll be starting over when i install the patch... that is... when i reinstall the game.... when i find my cd key... there should be an option to skip the teenage years.. nothing but trouble for me so far (and not the good kind) lol
