The only bad thing with this M4 is the sound (the old one is much better) but the model itself is excellent.

Great Job.

If you read that "review" again you'll see that he first bashes it and then says it's great and should become the default model.

i love that m4, the hands are excellent and the m4 isn't so big and doesnt take up half the screen.

the sounds are alot better than the defaults.

i think the ritual models should be the defualts aswell.

things valve should include in cz :

.all of ritual's models (wepons, player etc)
.all of ritual's sounds (weapons player, environment etc)

basically ALL the art work, models, HUD etc.
ok if valve didnt like the way the missions were cant they atlest replace the ugly outdated models, sounds, hud etc.

the only reason i can think valve doesnt want to include rituals work in the 'new' turtle rock cz version is because they would have to pay ritual for their work.

and valve want to make as much money as possible.

if cz doesnt have new sounds and models etc etc i am not going to buy it. i dont give a rats ass about updated old maps.....

especially if i am going to buy the xbox version and will be able to play them anyway.

if you go to the steam forums (of all places ! ) someone has relased the models, only the weapon models, ive tryed the player models online but they don't seem to work, they'll have to be recomplied.

I know that some of the cs nation team don't like the models for some strange reason, but thats not to say that the fans don't so far the m249 has gotten a 10/10.

The thing with the new models is, i had them in for a while but when i wanted to get back into my element i switched them back. Its like installing a replacement pack for cs. The models and sounds are awesome but im just not used to them, it makes it feel like a different game or different weapons. hopefully i get used to them because they are awesome. The two new models that are truly great to me are the usp and the ak. shooting the new silenced usp is the essence of cool in cs.

if you have cz copy all the v_ models from czero\models to steam\steamapps\email\counter-strike\cstrike\models and copy the folder czero\sound\ weapons to cstrike\sound

Everything works apart from the player models, the guns look amazing, i love them and finaly someone fixed all the clipping errors and little errors that were annoying with the old cs models, the new sounds are also very nice some of the realist sounds ive heard for the guns, im working on trying to get the player models to work, but i can't understand why they won't.

ritual should release a file containing their models, sounds, etc... to the public for all the people like me who would much rather be playing cs with rituals models and sounds opposed to valves dated caca

Spawn, those models aren't going to work until someone recompiles them with the regular CS animations attached. The ritual models have a different skeleton that doesn't work on CS 1.6 apparently.
I heard that a guy named Mozone on the CScentral boards has the fixed ritual player models, but for some reason hasn't released them yet.
Also, those weapon models and sounds do kickass-- finally an m4 that sounds like an m4.

lol

this is a question to ritual, did you guys change all the sounds ? including the sounds when you walk, and or when you break glass etc ? if so i would really like to get my hands on all of those sounds.

btw the thing i like most about your weapon sounds are that you have added little details like the pin dropping when you throw a grenade and when you pull the usp out you hear ruffling of clothes.

great work guys i cant wait to see what you have for us in the future.

i have a quick question for anyone that has dled the ritual m4... when u pull out the m4, does the animation seem a little fast? although the model and sounds are awesome that animation kinda bugs me ( the skin is by far still worth having over the default, gj ritual)

why do you guys wish ritual would release them, its already been stated they cant just wait for the game and do it yourself or wait for a site to host them

i animated it.. and i agree the animation is too fast. good call.

most of the weapons have a default draw animaiton time of 1 second (30 frames). when fitting some animations into this timeframe some actions appear to happen too quickly. i was never satisfied with that one.. should have changed it.

edit:
nevermind... scratch what i just said. i just looked at the *.qc file of the m4a1. and the draw animation is marked with a fixed fps.

$sequence draw "draw" fps 58

this animation is one of many i changed or tweaked of the orginal cs stuff. if i did out right change it then i kept the length of the animation the same and kept the fps in the qc the same so it wouldn't botch up anything, so the speed of the weapons felt the same as the original.
