If you don't have experience, it's going to be far too much trouble. Experience comes from practice, but it's going to take a long time.

Thats the point I have a lot of spare time and wouldnt mind learning. Besides that Ive messed with 3dx max and that crap before so I will know my way around a little.

You have to start somewhere-- if you want to do it, you can, if you put in the time and don't give up on it. I use max 5 mostly, but if you just want to learn to model: http://www.discreet.com/products/gmax/

That's what I started out with, it's a free version of 3d studio max, the only thing you can't do is render. I still use it to model since the full max uses up too much resources.

i'm not sure how long it would take but i could write up a document for you.

what version of max are you using and do you have character studio? if you want email me at work:

zoso@ritual.com or charlest@ritual.com

both work.
