Default New ATI drivers prevent leak use?

hey i installed the 3.9 drivers, and CZ wouldnt start
then i rolled back to 3.8, viola! what is the meaning of this ATI? has the HL2 promotion gotten to your head?

I updated my Nvidia divers and tryed to play CZ, it didn't work so i restarted my pc and it worked, i know its a stupid question but have you tryed that ?

ya i had the same problem just after installing 52.xx drivers, ofcourse i restarted when i installed the drivers but i would open cz and get a fatal error or whatever. works fine now though, not sure what i did to change it. sorry i cant help with an ati issue, no one i know owns one.
