Default EF2 Keeps Crashing

I am really angry now. My EF2 keeps crashing, Ill be playin a game (a really good game) and it will just crash, windows will complain to me telling me that they are sorry for the inconvience (yea right) and that EF2 needs to be closed! It can crash right off the bat or after several games, its totally random! I updated all my drivers and windows is tottaly up to date! An suggestions?

Specs:
AMD Athlon XP 2100+
Windows XP Professional SP1
ATi All In Wonder 7500 64mbs with latest catalyst drivers
768MBs RAM
ComCast Cable Internet

Im thinking 'catalyst drivers' here, for some reason the game has problems with some catalyst drivers and nvidia drivers. Some times its best to downgrade your drivers a version at a time, this shouldnt matter to any performance of the PC, cos it looks as if that card may be old enough that newer drivers dont add anything.

Well, i did what u said, i went down to the most recent drivers that worked for me, still no luck, i played for a long time before it crashed on me. Its those annoying warnings like it performed an illegal action. Any other suggestions?

Im down to, install ( if you alreadt havent DirectX 9.0b ) and/or reinstall EF2, if its only happening in the Single Player Missions, its probable you patched the game and resumed a save game from before the patch was installed, either of which, uninstall the patch or delete the 'C:\Program Files\Activision\EF2\base\save' directory.

Is it just this game or is it crashing with other similar games?

Mainly this game, it seems to have stopped crashing, if it continues again i will post. I think it may be Daemon Tools that was causing the Unstability in the program, who knows, thanx for your help this far.

This option is a last resort kind of thing: Reinstall EF2 or: Reinstall your operating system. If ya got Windows, reinstall that baby. If your OS has been installed for a good 3 or more months, it would be amazing if it wasn't acting up.

P.S. Thanks for the name switch guys. I'm still having to type BigFolks as my username to login. Is that normal?

I have an nVidia e-GeForce 4 MX 64megabyte card and it gives me an "okay" frame rate.. never has it crashed any of my games for being a 64meg.

Yeah sometimes a format could be good, but it takes time to get it back to that stable spot you like.

Yeah, that's the way the system works. You can change your publicly displayed name, but not your login name.
