Default Entire collection of Skins for SIN

Here are the seperate files for Elexis, JC and Blade

they unzip to (where ever you places SIN, usually c:\Program FIles\SIN)

/SIN/BASE/MODELS/PL_JC
/SIN/BASE/MODELS/PL_BLADE
/SIN/BASE/MODELS/PL_ELEXIS

Make sure to overwrite any files, as I was not sure exactly which files were stock or addons.

http://home.comcast.net/~bluebird.1/pl_jc.zip
http://home.comcast.net/~bluebirdpod/pl_blade.zip
http://home.comcast.net/~the.bluebird/pl_elexis.zip

This is a very large collection and took YEARS to aquire,
now you will be able to see almost everyone who uses a custom skin, please do not use another clans skins either.
just install them to see their skin.

also here are more blade skins, you have to be careful of adding too many blade skins, it causes errors in SIN, so if you add any in this next file you will need to remove some of the other ones.

That's odd. They work for me. I'm using Netscape 7.2 under WinXP Pro SP2.

I just re-downloaded all three files and they are working just fine, please check your browser and its settings. Check to make sure you can download any file, a easy way to check this would be to goto microsoft and try downloading anything they have available.

Funny. When I am in Windows those links just do not work(I get "connection timed out" and "file not found" reports.). While in gnu/linux they work perfectly...

so I got them, thank you. There are some exelent skins. Espesially on Elexis ones are a quite interesting.

My SiN is GNU/Linux version anyway so it doesn't bother much...

They have been busy with AmigaOS4 lately so I doupt if they will publish anymore linux games anytime soon.

Did you look for it? If not, then it might not be, but probably still is, all the POD skins are in there, incl. yours.

I think I might have a few skins not in the skin packs, trouble being that their filenames are a bit screwy. See, I had a windows 95 crash, and had to resort to doing a DOS copy of the files onto a new hard drive to save them, and all the names became pretty screwy, lol. (happened a LOOOOONG time ago)
Now, I did try off and on to rename then correctly, but never finished the job. There were a lot of skins from SiNpost and SiN Skin Bin in there too, but oh well.
BTW, would have posted this under my main forum name, but the darn board won't email me a new password.

Good Question, you will need to make a few directories, Find your Sin 1 Deathmatch directory, it will be found under your C:Program FilesValve or C:Program FilesSteam directory, and inside of your Sin 1 Deathmatch directory will be a directory called BASE, inside of the BASE directory, you will first need to make a directory called MODELS, then inside of that make Three more Directories, one called PL_JC, PL_BLADE, and PL_ELEXIS

sample path would be as follows

crogram filessteamsteamappsluebirdpodsin 1 deathmatchasemodelspl_jc and of course pl_blade and pl_elexis

then simply unzip each skin file into each corresponding directory and make sure that you do not create any extra paths, the files need to be in the root of each corresponding directory.

Ah, very nice skin pack! I can't manage to replace existing skins in the Steam version though. I rename the skin of my choice to the name of an existing skin, then put it in the "sin 1" folder (in SteamApps) using the same folder structure as in the GCF file (base/models/*modelname*). Has anyone gotten this to work?

If you rename those, then there is no way to others seeing what skin you use. I have no problems, all skins showing up. Put them to your Sin 1 multiplayer\base\models folder. Since those skins are for MP anyways, and you can't use them with SP.
