This was my second play-through, post the patch, starting again with the default difficulty settings. It's strange though that it wasn't any easier for me than pre-patch. In fact, I now had to kill 128 Elite Sintek Chaingunners (21.30%). Starting with the first highrise map, pretty much every enemy was a chaingunner. Sometimes I had 8 of them simultaneously chasing after me at the same time.

I suppose the automatic difficulty adjustment is foiled by my tendency to quicksave and quickload a lot, and by lot, I mean a LOT. Such as I tend to reload from reflex if I get hurt to much, so the only times I died was in the upside-down world secret on the last level.

The final title is in my sig, but I liked some of the earlier ones I got better.

The first word in my title for example varied from:
Accomplished, Ingenious, Astute, Resourceful, Merciless, Magnificent, Bureaucratic, Detail Oriented, Domineering, Ferocious, Implacable, Ruthless, Exalted, Superb, Peerless. And then this part of the title simply vanished.

I was also Lieutenant, Captain, Major, Chief, Commander, King and then Emperor, before finally ending up with Wicked John Blade.
I don't think it has anything to do with killing the scientists, although I did kill them. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

And it's always the very last level where I change to "Big Spending."
Earlier I tend to be "Head Hunting" or "Speed Killing."

I got the game well after the patch... From what I've heard, you guys must be insane to have beaten it pre-patch...

I like the difficulty adjustment system. It's working great for me. I haven't messed around with the sliders much, since I'm only on my first replay of the game. (I'm much better this time around... but probably nowhere near as good as most of you, judging by your titles!)

I'll post mine later once I look it up again.

Even so, I had a blast playing it the first time through. Now I have to crank the sliders all the way to the right and I still find it a little too easy (unless you are playing hardCORPs, in which case GOOD LUCK!)..

My end game stat seems like it sucked compared to most of yours. (I played it on the default settings on my first run through; maybe that's why?) It looked something like...

Efficient Wicked John Blade: Champion for hire.

(Something like that. My computer doesn't alt-tab well since it's old and SiN & Steam take up a fair bit of my memory.)

I used to hoard ammo until I realized that I can waste anything / everything with reckless abandon.

Mmmmm. Grenades...

Edit: If anybody has a spawn list for the console or something, I should try to beat the entire game with only grenades. Or maybe just melee and grenades. Except for the helicopter, of course.

I still don't know how I managed to stay alive.....
That "dead relay" part and the last outside floors of the Supremacy Tower were (...) hard. It took about 10 saves and 30 deaths... each
fantastic game to play, I'm thinking of beating it again now

The results of recent masochism (both dd_challenge and dd_forgiveness at 1.0) -- first playthrough though, save for the first few of maps -- plus I had to replay a couple of maps to find secrets. Excuse the formatting as I cannot post in HTML, and there is no tag equivalent to <table> in vB code, so I could not easily make one into the other.

This was not without cheating though; we shall note that cheating detection is not fool proof. When you set sv_cheats to 1; you indeed have your challenge rating change to CHEATER, and it remains CHEATER even if you disable sv_cheats later. However, it is possible to save a game, then set sv_cheats to 1, use the cheats (example: noclip to locate secret areas); then set sv_cheats back to 0 and reload the game to "find" secret areas by yourself. You are no longer considered cheater.

Now if someone would explain to me what the above 12 numbers mean, and how they are calculated. They appear to be percentages, at least most of them (if they are averages, Exploration could be off -- there are 1 more secrets in the game than the total secret count; U4 Lab - Infiltration has 2 total secrets, not 1; Health could be off as well I imagine, since it is possible to have health above 100 and retain it -- although Health statistic is not just average health -- is there some kind of hard limiter function on it?).

Killed by a hand grenade in the big battle near the end of the construction pit. Not even by the blast itself, but by backing out into the subsequent fire (with 19 health). What a shame.

Was anyone able to beat Supremacy Tower: Entry at a reasonably high challenge level without reloading BTW? I don't think I ever was able to; there is a shortage of health packs, and you cannot carry any from the previous map (like you can in any other level).


Tip: Activate HC mode without beating the game (i.e. fresh install): "sv_unlockedchapters 6".
