Default Weird bug with the shadows

Now, I have this problem not only with Sin Episodes but my other source games aswell (HL2 demo and deathmatch, DoD:source)
I never really had this problem when I used my old video card which was a GeForce 5500 128 mb agp8x but when I switched to a Nvidia GeForce 6200 256 mb agp8x the shadows have been funky and glitchy and kinda clone them selves.

Specs
GeForce 6200 256 mb agp8x
1024 mb of ram
AMD Sempron 3000+ (2.0ghz)
Video drivers are up to date.

I've asked alot of places and they didn't really seem to help much, hopefully someone here could clear this issue up for me.

Also, I've seem to misposted this thread, could someone move it to the tech help section for me? Thanks.

You can try changing the value of
r_shadowrendertotexture and see if
that helps.

Unfortuneately it hasn't helped much.

Here's another shot of this unusual bug.

I hope the fact that it happens to all my source games hasn't steered away support from fixing it in Sin Episodes.

The reason I mentioned the r_shadowrendertotexture command
is that this cvar along with cl_drawshadowtexture gives me a
shadow similar to the one you have.

Other than that I have not been able to reproduce anything like this
shadow bug. If changing these two cvar values does not help,
unfortunately I don't know a solution other than going to the menu
for advanced video settings and using the low detail shadows
setting, or setting r_shadowsrendered to a low number (default
is 32)

Do you have the latest drivers, directx and windows updates?
I can't find any mention of this in the steam forum or in the support section, so I'm going to assume it is unique to you. Therefore probably driver related problem, out of date driver or something.

I have the latest drivers, directx. As for windows, I get errors when I try to update but I don't think it's the cause seeing how they were fine on my other video card. I made a topic sometime ago on the steam forums but I didn't bother to look at it again due to the lame responses it received. They were those very obvious things that you always try but they mention it, things like "update your drivers".

I asked steam support but they never respond to my problems.

You could try uninstalling the graphics card and drivers and installing it again. You could try using older drivers, sometimes the latest drivers aren't the best thing for you. If all else fails a format usually fixes most things.

PS: Is that marilyn manson in your avatar?

I've tried reinstalling the drivers before.

As for the avatar, lol no it's not Manson, it's the singer from a punk band called the Adicts.
