with only 3 weapons there i find it totally unecesairy to resort to esdf for movement, only ever did that on quake2 since there are so many different but usefull weapons there.

When I bought this game I thought I was going to have to make a slew of changes to the controls but actually I'm quite comfortable with the default controls. But, if they release more weapons in the following episodes I'm probably going to make changes.

Almost like default:

movement = WASD
fire = mouse1/2
reload = wheelclick (recommended for everyone, all the weapon controls in your right hand!)
weapon switch = wheel up/dn
grenade = g (don't use 'em often)
zoom = x
use = e
crouch = SHIFT (CTRL is way too far down)

In Sin 1 I never figured that WASD would be a good control scheme for movement, so I resorted to the arrow keys for movement, CTRL to use, NUM 0 to crouch, mouse2 to jump. Kept that setup for lots of games until I played one where it couldn't be changed from WASD.

Duke Nukem 3D fanboy right here. :P

I use the default controls. In fact, in every game I play I always use default. Sure, there's a bit of a learning curve for each game but once you get confortable with it it's quite easy.

I just stuck with the default, i very rarely change my control layouts unless theres a vast quantity of variables i need access to in the game

I use standard FPS setup (WASD, CTRL, Space, etc.) and have Mouse 4 as zoom, and Mouse5 as Melee (my two thumb buttons).

Movement: wasd
Jump: space
Crouch: left ctrl
Use: 'e'
Reload: 'r'
Grenade: mouse 4
Zoom: mouse 5
Melee: 'q'
Mouse sensitivity at 10. Post your mouse sensitivity guys!

I use '1' '2' and '3' for switching weapons. I never use the mouse wheel: it's less efficient. I didn't put anything for mouse 3 because I can accidently switch the weapon if I press it. Maybe I can unbind the mouse wheel and put it to some practical use.

A question for those in the know. I don't really see a difference with mouse filter 'on' or 'off'. Does it make a difference?

I'm a powerful demonic force! I'm the harbinger of your doom! And the forces of darkness will applaud me as I *STRIDE* through the gates of Hell carrying your head on a pike!

<3

As for controls; mine are mainly default:

Movement - WASD
Jump - Space
Crouch - Left ctrl
Reload - R
Use - E
Melée - B (Thumb sits nicely on both space and b)
Throw grenade - Tilt Right on mousewheel
Zoom - Mouse thumb button (Logitech G5, so just one thumb button)
1,2,3 - Used for weapon switching

Mouse sens. is a 2.2 with my mouse's DPI set to 400 (lowest).

PS. Let's not ruin an interesting topic with talk of that game.

Im still firmly encamped in my cursor keys for movement

delete - reload
end - use
right shift/ctrl - run/crouch
middle m/button - jump

i think im the ONLY one who still uses this. Another thing is that when buying a new keyboard, the delete and end keys MUST be directly above the up arrow (as opposed to most keyboards where there is a gap) If not, I wont buy it. Last time i bought a new keyboard, the only one i could find with this set up was a cheap £4.99 one, but it had to be done

I wonder if anyone here can play with tractor controls: NO MOUSE, just arrow keys and wasd. The game would be pretty intense even on the lowest difficulties playing like this.

I also still only use the arrow keys for movement
Ctrl - duck
Shift - jump
Enter - zoom
Delete - mag
End - shotgun
Page Down - assualt rifle
Keypad_Ins - reload
Keypad_End - melee
Keypad_4 - gernade
Mouse1 - fire
Mouse2 - alt. fire
Mouse3 - use

I use this same setup in most FPS games and probably will never change to the wasd setup

Haha, that bit was awesome. Murray was a classic villain.
