Default Video Problem with Sin Episodes

My system is a 3.0 Pent 4 with 512 memory
For some unknown reason I can keep this game running
Bought a new Video card ( ATI Radeom 9550
witch is a 9600.
Up dated the lastest drivers and tried different
video modes but still no luck.
The game starts but wile opening movie
i get bars, then finnaly just lines and sound stuttering.
Then crash.

I can bring the Video card back if this is the problem.

What card should i get?

Thanks Mad Max

hmm, i'm running on an old Radeon 9000 pro.
I get occassional crashes, and a few minor problems, but the game runs on mine.
Spend a little more and get one of Radeon X series.
9000 series is now obsolete to run the new games that are coming out.

Try clicking this link:
steam://support/?Issues=*
and see if there are any issues listed with your hardware.

Any thoughts on using a LCD flat pannel monitor?
I am using a Sony HS95P.

I have this game installled in my other computer witch is
a AMD 3200 and Video card is a ATI Radeon 9800 256
but it has a CRT 20 in monitor and runs fine with no problems.

Am downloading one more game in Steam and i'll see if that one has a problem, That one also runs fine in the AND computer.

I tried to run Loast coast in Steam and it started ok but then i got this error message

Internal Drive Error in Direct 3D Device 9 Present.

Is this a Card setting or does it have something to
do with card and LCD monitor?

I've never heard of a monitor having any sort of effect on a computer's performance or stability, so I'd be extremely surprised if that were the case.

That error you're seeing is usually a driver issue. You can try adding "-dxlevel 80" to your launch options in steam (without the quotes). The error is usually fixed by upgrading to the latest drivers for your video card, but if you still get that error after reboot, you should try forcing the game into DirectX 8 mode and seeing if that fixes it.

I tried all 4 DirectX settings and no luck.
Took out My virus and firewall software and no luck.

I have run out of ideas. Next i will take the video card back
and try some other brand.

Ran the test program from Steam and it said problem with Norton
so i took all my protection out and still no luck.
I am lost for ideas.

If i were you, i would take that card back, and replace it to some other model, since you have problems with other games too, it's pretty obvious that your ati card is a monday print.
