Default Freeze at loading screen

I am running the Steam version of Emergence. I've been experiencing an intermittent problem recently causing my game to freeze completely when I try to load a game. I can't say if this also happens with regular saved games since I haven't used them. What I do know is that it only happens when I'm loading a saved game, never a map, and that it has happened both from the title screen and from inside the game proper.

My computer itself doesn't freeze; if I'm lucky I can get the task manager to the top so I can shut the program down. My computer acts as if it's retrieving the save, but continues to hold at "Loading..." for as long as I've had the patience to wait (about 10 minutes.) It's possible that the saves are becoming corrupted, since I can't say for certain that I've managed to get a saved game to load properly after the bug has happened to it.

This problem started a few weeks ago, shortly after I finished the episode for the first time. When I eventually came back maybe a week later to give it another try, I was fine for an hour or two before the problem emerged again. Now the game is virtually unplayable, since loading a game only works about 25% of the time. Right now my only solution is HardCORPS mode

Thanks for the assist.

Default Re: Freeze at loading screen

My apologies if this is related to the problem they're currently investigating. The idea that it might be caused by corrupted saves only recently occured to me.
