Default can't play sin episode?

I am new to the same but I've been having some trouble. After I installed the game onto my computer(got it at a store)this phrase then appears. "Steam.exe(main exception): Unable to load library steam.dll." So I was wondering if any of you guys know if I will require a steam account and internet to play the game.

If Standoff was a bit vague, well.

You NEED Steam and an internet connection to play SiN Episodes. It's right on the box... It says something about agreeing to the licence agreement and checking it online and stuff first.
To clarify, you must have Steam and an active, working internet connection.

Not exactly addressing the situation.

Have you got any other Steam games installed.
Can you do a full search for Steam.dll on your system including System and Hidden folders.

Cheers

Cool heres my suggestion, uninstall steam and all sin from the add/remove programs in the control panel of your computer, then defrag your hard drive and then restart and install Sin Episodes again and then restart after the install is complete. Now place the sin disk in the comp and it should give you a menu, select the top one play sin episode or whatever. If anything comes up about INFORMATION fill it out and use a correct email address and you should be able to play, if not take that warez some warez else.

Sorry to be harsh but I hate steam and it's because of warez I have to have it on my machine

Warez version don't come with Steam. And I'm sure his Steam problem is a result of a misplaced .DLL rather than a reinstall.

We use Steam primarily for a patching system to provide additional functionality like Arena Mode, but we will not release a version of "Emergence" that does not require Steam.

In any case, if you are using a non-Steam version of "Emergence," this thread is closed.
