Ritual Entertainment Games for Windows Program Officially Launches

Microsoft today officially announced the retail launch of its unified Games for Windows line with Relic's Company of Heroes and Lego Star Wars II. Both of those games come in the new Games for Windows branded box and meet a number of criteria required by Microsoft, including support for widescreen resolutions, x64 processors and the Vista Game Explorer, as well as streamlined installation. If you'll remember, SiN Episodes is also part of the Games for Windows program and was featured at Microsoft's CES booth.

Microsoft will also ship special Games for Windows point of purchase displays to some 7500 stores across the US, allowing gamers to try out the latest and greatest GfW titles right there. This is a major step forward for the PC platform, and you can read more about the Games for Windows program in this article on the Shack, as well as this post on Michael Russell's website.
