Default and now? NO MORE EPISODES?

hi all, have you heard lastest news?
ritual in now property of mumbojumbo software house. they are famous fer their casual games. yeah, casual games, I'm not joking...they develop a sort of stupid/kid oriented games...so it seems that there will be no future for SIN...

I hope not.

So far it has been delayed indefinetly or canceled. There is atleast a select(By that I mean less than ten) working on various stuff for Sin:E. Most definitly the best know is USEMP.

What really sucked is that I paid full retail amount($50) for mine, because EA(correct me if I'm wrong, but they published it in retail) just wanted to make money and didn't care about the comminuty(like always).

So for all those out there that only paid $19; $14; $9 really got no reason to complain. Its super cheap.

yeah, EA only takes care only of his business. anyway I can't understand how a software house like mumbojumbo is still alive...and where they find money to relieve ritual

My only real question is why? What were there motives to do such a thing and why did ritual keep us in the dark? I just wish we could get some answers. One thing to note. Episode two is on hold or canceled, so if we don't here any news by september/october, then we can asume it have been canceled.

Sorry, but they didn´t learn from SiN 1
And now they did the same faults. Why the hell they put out a Singleplayer Game that no one want? The World was waiting for SiN 2 Multiplayer!!! Oh my good, when i think back to that great Time we had with SiN 1 Multiplayer, it was the best ever. The old Sinners have wait all this years for a part 2 and now that. I can´t believe.
So sit down, finish your SiN 2 Mutliplayer part, release it and you will see that you will sell tons of this game.

i've read about it. but generally when a game is said to be on hold, after some months of silence, it disappear without leaving trace. duke nukem forever anyone?

even without multiplayer i think the idea of making episodes was good, but it isn't easy to have success when HL releases his episode at the same time. the same happened when the first SIN was released if i'm not wrong

Your correct, the public and reviewers alike kept on comparing it with the HL series, because of it being released closely to each other. Which kind of make it unfair, because both Sin games are great and the public got and different view because of reviewers.

yeah, public opinion...magazines...everyone compared SIN to HL.

reading the article about mumbojumbo acquisition once again, i think at marketing data about emergency... 150000 copies aren't so many, but:

1) the episode-mode was the first attempt to follow a new marketing and gaming experience way

2) i don't remember a heavy advertising campaign to promove the product (maybe i'm wrong), which was oblviously necessary to promote this new product as one of many other (sigh) episodes

maybe someone decided it wasn't profitable goin on with the story...

If I remember correctly. Sin:E won quite a few awards at E3 2006. They should have done alot more advertising, but as I said somewhere before. Most of Ritual's PR sucked.

in effect...when most valuable people leave and go to work for other it means things aren't going on so well...it's a pity...with a next-gen graphic engine episodes could be at least at the same level of HL2 series...

If you read the article MumboJumbo states they WOULD like to return to Sin:E, remember MumboJumbo CEO and fonder is a former Ritualian. Sin:E didn't sell as well as ritual hoped, so I guess they decided to take a break, come back with fresh minds. It not that bad that we might have to wait, as long as their is a community there will be Sin, remember when the sequel was announced on Ritualistic, but never came to pass, the BOOM Sin E surprised us all. This isn't the worst, remember Sin beat DNF out twice. It will come it's just a matter of time

What a pointless thread, try reading the forum before posting next time, someone probably posted exactly what you were thinking. These threads suck btw.

@apprentice: Why are you here? You must be in the wrong Forum!!! Dont you belong to an Lucas Arts Forum?

@Xenogenetic: By the way, you suck most the time with your unkindly Comments like the guy above! If youre not interested in this Topic then leave! Got it!

@Topic: I hope, but i got the feeling, Ritual is being unable to continue and giving out a Statement about this. Its like with the missing MP-Part for Emergence. No Statement no Future!

In 1998, Sin was more and is still more Impressive to me than Half Life 1!

I thought I should quote this little snippet from a magazine.

"Sin Episodes has been shelved for now. Apparently the first game did well and sold a lot of copies, but not enough to self-fund the second episode. But for now, Ritual, recently bought by MumboJumbo, will be working on casual games first before returning to the series" -New Age Gaming, March 2007

So if this quote is true, then we do have something to look forward to in the future.

This thread would've been locked already if it was actively monitored by Ritual . . .
