This tutorial explains how to make your standard Sliding door that raises as you approach. Start
off by making a basic room with lights and a player start.
1.) For demonstration sakes, your going to make a large wall as the door
that will rise when you approach. So make a wall in the center of the room from floor to ceiling.
2.) Select the wall then press "N" to get the Entity View in the console
window. Scroll to the Func_Door selection , double click it to make this wall into a Door.
3.) At the bottom of the Console Window
in the left corner there is a grid of boxes, marked in increments
of 45 , and to the left of that grid it has 2 buttons saying
up and down. Click on "Up". Now find
the checkbox that says "Auto Open" and checkmark it.
4.) Save, compile and run the map. When you go near the large wall, it should
rise "up" as specified, like a door. Now you can go back into SinED and play around with different techniques,
directions and such.
